Valentines in the Village

Wimbledon Homes February 2023 Blog

We’re feeling the love in the Village this month, and in celebration of Valentine’s Day, we’ve rounded up some of our favourite romantic spots for date night in Wimbledon.

We’re spoilt for choice when it comes to eating and drinking establishments in Wimbledon. Read on to find out more about some of our top recommendations…

Cent Anni

First up is local favourite Cent Anni, a modern, independent Italian restaurant which serves freshly prepared, classic Italian food in a contemporary style. Offering all the classics in Italian cuisine, from handmade pasta to thin crust pizzas and enticing main dishes, Cent Anni is the perfect romantic spot to unwind and enjoy a leisurely evening meal and bottle of wine.

Situated on the High Street just down the road from the Wimbledon Homes offices, Cent Anni is conveniently located in the heart of the Village.

Hemingways

Having been awarded ‘Best Cocktail Bar in South-West London’, you can be assured that you’re in for a fantastic time at Hemingways bar. Whether you’re after a classic Old Fashioned, a modern pick-me-up such as an Espresso Martini or one of their unique in-house creations, including the ever-popular Pomme d’Hemingways, the highly trained bartenders will ensure that your drink truly hits the spot.

For those seeking something a bit different, the bar also hosts communal wine tasting events which can be paired excellently with their delicious selection of homemade pizzas and antipasti.

 Bayley & Sage

Planning an evening in? Head to Bayley & Sage on the High Street for all your posh picnic goods. This local delicatessen takes pride in delivering superb quality products, with delicious seasonal dishes prepared daily in their kitchens including freshly baked bread, while flowers and a fantastic selection of wines are also available.

For an extra treat, Bayley & Sage offer hampers, with all the goodies needed for a special evening meal at home.

The Ivy

At the very heart of Wimbledon Village, The Ivy Café offers a relaxed yet stylish dining experience. From modern British cuisine to café-style classics and fantastic vegan and vegetarian dishes, there’s something for everyone to enjoy on a romantic meal out. The popular upmarket brasserie also features an intimate garden terrace and private first-floor dining room for special occasions.

Crooked Billet

It wouldn’t be a complete Wimbledon food and drink list without mentioning one of the fantastic pubs on our doorstep. Tucked away on a beautiful corner of Wimbledon Common, the Crooked Billet is a charming local spot serving fresh, seasonal British produce alongside an extensive list of craft beers and fine wines. In winter the Crooked Billet has cosy fires to keep you warm, ideal for those coming in after a stroll across the common. They even have complementary dog treats waiting for any four-legged furry friends in tow.
