With two new champions crowned, and an inordinate quantity of strawberries consumed, the Wimbledon fortnight for 2023 has come to an end.
This year’s tournament brought with it a buzz larger than ever – an atmosphere which was felt across SW19 and beyond.
Everyone from first-class players to celebrities and day punters descended on our leafy corner of Southwest London for the sporting tournament of the year. It was fantastic to see local businesses rising to the occasion and enjoying the swell of visitors to their doorsteps. From Shetland ponies dressed in tennis gear to tennis ball high heels – we really saw it all!
At Wimbledon Homes, we were delighted to be part of the Wimbledon Village Business Association’s (WVBA) window competition for its 10th year.
A creative array of different displays really brought our shop fronts and office windows to life. The Wimbledon Homes team was thrilled to be awarded a special prize for our efforts – a lovely tennis print from local gallery, Ad Lib in Church Road Wimbledon.
Our Founder, Mark, was also lucky enough to attend the Men’s Singles Final to witness Carlos Alcaraz claim the prestigious grass court title – the first man not in the “big four” to do so since 2002.
We’re looking forward to next year already!
